I don=92t really mind the Nortel 2002 / 2004 phones but would want a Gig
switch instead of the built in 10 /100 switch. I need to add about 50 - 60
Phones, the BCM is a few months old.
I guess I can always run 2 drops, 1 for Phones and 1 for Data with separate
switches.

In a way that is not a simple qu=
estion to answer as it depends on thesoftware version on your BCM.Generally speaking you will be best off sticking with Nortel phones.phone you like, but I wouldn't recommend it - with most IP phone sys=
tems
a SIP phone has the same level of functionality as a $5 analog handset.=
Cisco phones with the SIP firmware fall into that category.Anything=
else that's intended for another phone system in an absoluteand em=
phatic NO. Cisco phones with the SCCP firmware fall into that
category.
for the off topic post but i fugure someone on this list may be> ab=
le to answer me.> We are expanding and are in need of a buch of new =
IP phones, do I have
> to use Nortle or can I add other manufacturers phones like Cisco?<=
